Footballers secure Senior status   27/10/2010

On Wed evening Carnew travelled to Baltingalss and played Dunlavin in the replay of their Keating Cup game. Carnew came away with a 6 point win, but did not have things their own way for long periods of this game. The first half was close with both teams exchanging scores, the decisive score being a Carnew goal from the boot of Hennnessy. Carnew lead at the break by 1-5 to 0-6.  Carnew started the 2nd half well with 2 early points before Dunlavin again came back at them. Carnew, however made the game save with 2 well taken goals from McCrea and Kinsella mid-way through the half. Entering the last 10 mins Carnew's lead was 3-8 to 0-8, but Dunlavin finished the game strong, scoring 3 unanswered points in the final stages.

The final score of 3-8 to 0-11 means Carnew have secured their place in the Senior Football Championship for 2011. Well done to all involved.
